View Full Version here: : 89 Julia - quick animation
Couldn't resist another animation.... this one is just a bright asteroid - 89 Julia.
This is a 147km diameter, large main belt asteroid discovered in 1866.
Frames taken 24hr apart, 5th and 6th November - 20x10s exposures each. Starry Night Pro reports magnitude 8.92.
Awesome job Lee. Couldn't help but notice, in the "V" of stars just to the right of bottom centre, there is a very faint object that moves much slower and at approximately right angles to the asteroid. It could be an artifact but might be worth checking your originals. You might have captured two objects in the same field, once again, great job.
