aka NGC 246.
Imaged under difficult conditions due to intermittent clouds.
The high resolution image includes some interesting galaxies.

I did find a jet (or was it a commercial aircraft) after some aggressive stretching. (See attachment)

Bit of colour noise in the background Steven but very nice detail in NGC246 and the other stuff in the field. Nice jet too <g>.

That's it... your image and Nettie's Facebook images have convinced me to join in and try it for myself.
Now, will the sky cooperate tonight...

Nice planetary but I don't find the jet convincing

:) I gave this one a go the other evening. Even half an hours worth of subs brings it up nicely. It's so bright and there is a lot of really interesting stuff lurking in the background.
Great image. :)

That is excellent Steve.

Gosh that's great work. Very easy to dismiss just how tight and sensitive this is, but great rig with data processed very well. Interesting object to boot.
Nice shot Steven.
Another one for the to-do list.
Cheers, Ross...

Thanks for the kind comments.
I have removed most of the background noise.
I will work on it further with PI.
Clear skies

Further processing using PI to bring out the background galaxies and reduce colour noise.
Perhaps it should be called Richard III's skull given the hole at the back. Poor Richard must have suffered one hell of a headache at Bosworth.:)

Good job on the colour noise Steven - looks great now. I think the contrast could be beefed up a bit though.

Thanks Steve.
Your fine image of NGC 1360 has prompted me to try this object next.
It was one of my very first images with a CCD (with an ST-7).
I hope do better this time around.
Regards
Steven
