Hi all!

I thought I'd go through my photo archives and find an image that might lend itself to B&W conversion. I found one of the kiosk at the end of the St. Kilda pier from a trip to Melbourne in 2009 that was pretty anaemic in colour but felt had potential.

I decided to process the sky separately and make it a tad more dramatic and then work on the rest, convert to B&W and add some vignetting for effect. All up I was quite happy with the result using GIMP and the final product is attached...

Cheers,
Mario

Nicely done Mario.

Two minor architectural photo niggles:
- the horizontal is a touch off -> rotate image by -0.3
- the walls are converging vertically -> rather more fiddly to fix since the perspective tool doesn't let you adjust X and Y separately.

Andrew,

Yep, you're right on both counts!

Both these issues can be fixed in the Tools/Transform Tools menu. For the perspective, if you grab a corner of the picture it allows you to move X & Y independently. I'll go back to the original tonight and see what I can come up with!

Thanks for the help,

Cheers,
Mario
