Venus sets below the Milky Way at Coral Bay, Western Australia.

This is a single shot I took before the larger panorama (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/four-galaxy-panorama-over-coral-bay/) captured from the same spot.

- Large (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/533)
- Blog (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/venus-sets-beneath-the-milky-way/)

Captured with the Canon 6D, 14-24mm lens, ISO6400, f/2.8, 15s exposure.

Thanks for looking!

Nice Work Mike, I like how in the single shot the milky way goes on into the distance out of the frame

Very nice Mike!

Venus looks great sitting right above the dip in the sand. Great framing

Great colours and composition Mike :) And the bright sand dunes in the foreground really add to the scene. A wonderful view.

Good composition Mike. Saturation is ok but I think the sky is too magenta for my taste.

Lovely shot Mike. Pardon my ignorance but did the foreground come up in the shot as is or did you shoot this earlier/moonlight?/etc? I have to give this a go soon!

Hi Peter

It's as shot, a single shot. The 6D is great in low light!
