Hi guys,

My first attempt at the Horsehead Nebular.

Taken with a humble old Canon 400D; 12.5" f/5 telescope.

13 x 5mins
17 x 3 mins

All at ISO1600 providing equivalent of 116 mins of exposure

Clear skies.

Nice shot, John. You're just starting to see some of the wispy structure in IC434, there. More, longer subs for longer total exposure will bring it out :)

Yeah, lots of progress to be made including taking some flats!!

Now that my rig is guiding well can get cracking on objects like this including modding my DSLR.

nope - not yet! but would like to mod my camera - did crank up the saturation in processing.

I did shoot this however from a dark sky location at the ASV's LMDSS location.
