No one ever seems to image this galaxy.:screwy:

Jokes aside, focus is out a bit (SO easy to spot with this darned f/5 system) and I have NOT got Sharpsky installed yet (too damned busy). Just 20 minutes total in 6 nm H-a with the SBIG ST-8XE (running at -21.3°) and the f/5 DED108SS refractor. Issues ALL night, from weird green subs, to clouds, to MaxIM deciding it didn't want to guide (but PHD did, which is usually the other way around)

Slight mis-focus makes the stars look like planets in this system :help: Ah well, Sharpsky should end that issue.

Enjoy. Yes, I know it's NGC253, but count yourself lucky it is not M42 :welcome:

And now with as much of the non-deBayered colour filter and luminence data I could find and merge. Smoothed it right out, but it's still paltry data.

Cropped full size. Bad stars, naughty bad stars.:mad2:

It looks pretty good past the stars. Liquifiy tool in Photoshop CS5 and above can reduce those stars. Astrodon.com has a tutorial about it.

Having a nightmare trying to align the colour subs. A REAL nightmare (compounded by my probably overly harsh dither routine of 5 pixels)

The stacked Lum by itself is NICe (lovely stars) as is the H-a, but the colour subs....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRR
