Some nice views there Jorge, I bet it was hot under the Sun when you captured these. I am assuming that the background structures are of the solar granulation although in image #1 there seem to be some vertical, parallel lines artefacts?

Is the colour from the colour version of the ASI120?

Cheers

Yes, you are right. It is a color version - ASI120MC - and the background structures are of the solar granulation.

ASI camera is bringing me images with these vertical lines. They are more evident with Registax wavelets filters. A friend with a mono version says that his photos have it too. Both, I and him, are using Sharpcap to capture. I reckon Firecapture give a more smooth image. I will try it.

Thank you for looking and comment.

Thanks Jorge. I like the more pleasing and natural colour of the Sun’s disc from a colour camera. Whenever I have tried to “paint” in the colour it also changes the hues in the sunspots and makes them look less natural.

I have the ASI120MM monochrome and use FireCapture and so far, I don’t seem to have seen these artefacts in processing, I assume this is because the mono does not have the Bayer matrix.

I wonder if you can de-Bayer the colour version to supress the matrix?

Cheers

Dennis, I did a RAW and I processed it today. The artefacts seems to be less strong.
I was reading firecapcture. I will try, RAW and color. Waiting by come back of the Sun. I feel he didn't like my photos and went out !
