A few nasty storms about yesterday, and maybe more today.Heading home from a back paddock,I captured this one with my Canon G1X,I did not linger too long,as a huge burst of wind came through and blew large trees down on the road opposite this property.Had a little bit of damage and some mess to be cleaned up.Thought this image may be of interest.

Impressive Chris, have to agree, there has been some ordinary weather around of late.

Amazing image. Thanks for posting.

I drove through the Bells Line of Road yesterday where the big fires were last week. I drove through a heavy downpour and hail storm and the temp went down to 8C! Australia eh?

Greg.

We didn't get much up here in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, just 16.5mm rain :D and some wind, very little lightening.
It was all over in 15 minutes.
Cheers:thumbsup:

Was in Yarraman on Tuesday and a line of storms came through. Have a video of a lightning strike not far from us, almost had to have a change of undies. There was less than a second between flash and thunder someone said we had 37mm of rain in less than 30 mins. Can't verify that statement.
Poor furniture delivery driver managed to get himself bogged in our front yard trying to go straight to our front door instead of going around the earthworks in yard. Tried to let him know but he wasn't listening, we had to tow him out. He went away very red faced.

We had some nasty strips of storms in local area, blew many trees over,a hay shed roof was blown off,we copped it for hour, but we did get 50 mm of rain which filled the tank quite a bit.The local newspaper is publishing the image in paper 2moz-apparently the lower right hand side of image was an area that really copped it-it was like a twister.

Thats a Mighty Nice Gustfront Chris, thats where the wind came from, Major Outflow, whooosh : ) Great capturing and looks to be some rain behind it, as usual with gustfronts !
Not mush structure here unfortunately, just 2 breif bands of showery squawly mess with rumbbles, 20mm from both, betterra than a poke in the eye with a flat fish : )

Hi Adrian,
I was staying at Maidenwell on Tuesday and boy did it get wild where we were! We sat out on the verandah and had a few drinks watching the lightning show!
