Nowhere near SteveC's.

Again, a mere 7 minute single sub in H-a (Astronomik) with the f/5 DED 108SS refractor and SBIG ST-8XE CCD.

NGC 1365 is a favourite of mine, so since I now have the gear I dreamed of, I am doing the targets I always wanted to. Shame the SN is gone now :(

Anyway, 420 secs... pretty paltry, but again it was only a test to see how a GX responds to H-a. The faint arms structure/halo is JUST starting to show. More exposure will benefit.

Nice start Lewis, 1365 is a favourite of mine also. I am yet to have a crack at it though. As you say more data will make it even better.

That's not bad Lewis but to see more than the reverse S shape I reckon you need about 8-10 hours to do this one justice.

Of all the fuzzy start balls, the structured galaxies are definitely the pick of the bunch and 1365 is at the top of that pile for me as well.

It would be good to see a bit more depth in the exposure but for a single shot I think your on the money.

Great to see another digger in the sandpit of stars getting some work.
