Hi,

M33 is a real challenge from Penwortham, with a maximum height of 25 degree's above my horizon.
Most of this image was taken from 12 to 24 degree's.
The seeing and transparency was good fortunately, and it's the best result so far.

Equipment used.
8” F/4 astrograph , baader type coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D.

14 x 8 minute subs ISO1600, darks, flats and bias frames applied.
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop 7 and Olympus background tool.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Laurie!

Yep, wouldn't mind being further North for this one.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice work on a challenging object for us southerners, Justin!

This is a tough target as I have seen several people attempt this in the last 12 years. I think given the altitude and using a DSLR, this is pretty nice. I will try this next year with the new rig in the dome. I might be able to see it this time. Might need to prune some trees though.

Given its altitude that's excellent Justin. Well done!

Cheers

Another great looking photo Justin.

It's a beautiful galaxy and you have brought out nice detail with rich colours.

I have wanted to image this galaxy for the last 3 years, but the call of M31 always drags me away!

Thanks Rex!

M33 certainly is difficult to get the colour happening.
