Hi everyone, I took these subs at a wimb really just as I was about to pack up. I only managed 4 X 5 minute subs before the moon came up. I didn't really expect it to turn out ok, and was surprised. Obviously this needs more data but it's a start. thanks for looking. As always critique and advice welcome.

That does it. I gotta get a DSLR modded somehow.

Nice shot considering the short exp.

Excellent, especially for only 20 mins of subs.

Yeah I do but the moon came up so would have washed out any further subs that I took. Next time ;)

Thanks Jo, I really like what the modd has done for this camera. :D

Thanks Laurie.

Thank you Kevin. As I said mate it's not that hard, honestly, you just have to take your time, and make sure you have done plenty of research so you know what to expect.

Thanks Chris. I definitely will, just depends on when.

Thanks Ingrid.

Thanks Mariusz. Sometimes we just get lucky, as I said it was at a wimb and really didn't expect it to turn out ok.

Thanks Marc. Hopefully next weekend I will manage to get some more, although the weather is supposed to me closing in on wednesday. We can only hope the weather man is wrong.

Nice Rex, I really like it.

Gary Honis has some YouTube vids on modding these DSLR cameras. I have a 450D but I still need it for regular use so I won't touch it.
I think JB HIFI had 1100D's body only for less that $400 a couple of weeks ago. Would have grabbed one if it wasn't for the money that I spent on my mount.
But then again, if I didn't have the mount, I wouldn't need the camera either :P

Thanks Kosh.
Yes Gary is a wealth of information when it comes to modding dslr's. Both filter removal and cooling mods.

Lovely shot Rex. I particularly like the framing with the horse to the right of centre and the diffraction on the larger stars.
Would make a nice poster.

Cheers,
Ross...

I agree, great framing and composition, more data will make it a great image.

Thanks Ross. I too like difraction spikes, and wanted to make sure the star at the top was in the frame. As for making the horse off centre, that was to allow me to get the flame neb in as well.

Thanks Brett, hopefully this weekend.
