Finally some clear skies.

Damn cold too!!

I've been wanting to image Brewington for a while, Guide8 has it at Mag 9.4, but it's probably a magnitude fainter.

Equipment used.
8” F/4 astrograph , baader type coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D.

6 x 240 sec subs ISO1600
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, on comet and stars.
Processed in Photoshop 7.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice one. Was looking for that last couple of nights. Your picture confirms I was in the right spot but I couldn't see and dust.

Thanks Bob!

Yeah, sneaky the way the stack on comet menu is hidden in DSS!
When you import your images, make sure you click on the first image and the comet symbol will come up on the right hand side.

When you place your cursor over the comet, a circle will come up with an exploded view on the upper left. Make sure you centre best as you can and click, then click on the next image and repeat.

Make sure you set stack on comet and stars in stack settings.

Oh yeah, it will come up with a message initially to register images now, you can click later and register them after comet aligning.

Cheers,

Justin.

AHaaahh :thanx: I see that now Justin, your a good man
Ill have a go next comet capture as my recent ones were not exposed long enough (just tracking) and my collimation was knocked out which resulted in a rather diffused comet nucleus, actually no comet nucleus in the subs at all, so the DSS Comet selecter could Not find it to register ? I think that was what was going on ?
I should have a go and lift levels around the comet on individual subs to produce a Nucleus and then throw them in for a stack :P
Might work

Cheers for your help pointers Justin

I couldn't get DSS to work with ISON, I ended up stacking manually in PS. I even tried a pre-stretch. Maybe it's still too faint.

No Worries Bob!

Hope it works for you.

Hi Kevin,

Sometimes it won't work if there's not enough good stars to register. I've had to set register settings to one percent to get it to work.
Seems weird that a lower percentage is registering more stars.

Of course yours may be a different problem.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks. That may be it. I'll try again a little later...
