Pretty far away but it does show the scale of the problem. Thoughts go out to those affected by these terrible fires.

It's about 40km as the crow flies from Cherrybrook to the eastern escarpment of the Blue mountains. A little less for me. I made the mistake of not getting a pic of the sun yesterday. It was red rather than orange, and almost dim enough to see sunspots with the naked eye.

It was very red. I didn't underexpose enough to capture the true colour even with the camera turned back 4 stops
