Steve 's place is OK, but his neighbours aren't so lucky.

Still here boys & girls although a number of friends and acquaintances have lost their homes. Thankfully our house was spared, we were only half a kilometre east of the fire front on Thursday. The sounds of the houses going up along with the explosions wasn't pleasant under hot and very windy conditions and something I won't forget.
Things could have turned nasty again yesterday afternoon with another flare up just behind us which went on for at least four hours but looks under control this morning. The situation is still not over with an expected westerly wind change and higher temperatures this afternoon. I took these pics from my roof.
Thanks for your concern guys.

Very relieved you and your family are OK Steve. Keep safe, hope for rain!
Glad to hear your ok Steve.
It's a very scary situation in the Blue mountains at the moment, fingers crossed that those forecast winds do not happen.
Stay safe

Glad to hear you are ok and it is terribly sad about your neighbours. Having been through that when I was a kid, it is something I never ever forgot. :( But, like you, our house was saved whilst the people over the road lost theirs. Very scary stuff.

Thinking of all you guys over there, take care. The stories we're hearing are horrendous..
Some serious efforts and heroics from the fire fighters as well...

Scary photos. Best of luck with it all. That next move further out west for you is starting to look really good. Too much greenery and trees where you are right now.
