I bought an AutoStar controller used off here and then I ordered the cable to go with it.

The cable arrived today all the way from the UK however it has the wrong connector on it!

This is the one I got:

Here is the picture of the AutoStar (just a random one off the net):

I need a cable with the larger connector, the cable that came from eBay has the smaller connector. This cable bloody cost me $33 as well. Also I got the 1 metre one but didn't specify that it's not 1 metre when it's curled up so it is really short.

What cable do I need????????????????????

Hi Stefan,

I have just had a look at my autostar cable, (I have the etx 125pe), and it has a RJ45 at each end, same plug as a network lead but different pinout. the pins are all reversed ie: 1 to 8, 2 to 7......

If your cable is the same and if you or a friend have one of those RJ45 crimp tools, you can chop off one end of a network cable and place the wires in reverse order, crimp it and you have a cable, long as you like. By the way, not to be confused with a cross over cable as these only reverse the pairs and not the whole cable, although, if the end was chopped off it would be fine to use.

If not, let me know and I can ask the network boys at work to make one up and I'll send it to you. No cost.

Cheers,

Damien.

Hi Stefan,

Is that a yes to me getting a cable for you or are you just happy with the info. If so on the cable, let me know how long you want it and your mailing address.

Cheers,

Damien.
