Sticking with the "Eta program" :) and inspired by today's APOD topic...I decided to combine some old data with some new stuff.

Probably not i-pad friendly.

The link is here (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery270.html)

Well, that's pretty bloody awesome. Send that to Roland from AP. I'm pretty sure he will parade it around somewhere! Honestly never see a better picture of the Carina nebula short of a Hubble image.

You nailed that one. The best yet from your Honders setup. Look at those tight stars - beautiful.

A super high impact image and we are seeing the power of this setup here plus some excellent processing.

Greg.

I think the Honders is really starting to show its true form with this image, as a gold standard (and so typical from AP) astrographic system.

Thanks Greg. Much appreciated.

It's ipad friendly; very impressive detail in a very wide field. Ngc3324 is very nicely defined, contrasts look attractive, and the dusty sections throughout are very interesting, especially those in front of bright nebula.

Excellent.

Well, thanks....sort the same, but different

OK it didn't cost $29.95 and come with a set of steak knives ....but it does do the job soooo well :)

Ta Dave.

Thanks Marc. Your feedback is, as always, very welcome.

What?? Move away from the program???
(Actually I have been working on a much tougher target with over 35 hours of data to date.... TBA....)

:thanx:

Glad you like it.

For eagle eyed observers the are two small planetaries below the main nebula.... spotted them yet?

A benchmark Eta for sure. Actually I'm still impressed by your 2005 12.5" RCOS effort totalling 50mins exposure integration time. I've still got the S&T mag of it. That was certainly a benchmark back then so its good to see you continue put a stake in the ground with this one. Well done Peter.

Hi Peter,
Some really tight stars in there.
I looked at your old version of this image with less data here:

http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery140.html

I cropped a small section around the keyhole of both images.
I hope you don't mind?
The older version has more detail & is sharper.
Is this your processing or just the different size image in terms of MBytes?
See the attached pic:

It's OK, I'm used to to people going over my images with a fine-tooth comb. Guess I've imaged it more than once......

Different data set, different seeing....also the last version is scaled down quite a bit.... lots of reasons there...

Thanks Jase.......pity about the colour-space stuff up with AS&T

Ta Josh.

I'll be under the radar for a week or two, with spotty internet access.... so I may not be able to respond/answer questions, but " thank you" to one and all for you input and feedback on this one.

The iPad version of this looks more 3D than the view on my laptop. Colour also looks great on the iPad too. Tight stars too.
