I am going on an overseas trip in a week's time, and I would not mind a bit of extra cash before I go. So sale is for the next 5-6 days only! All prices are firm.

2 x Antares Elite Plossl 25mm - Made in Japan - great binoviewing pair or when used singly on deep sky - in excellent condition - one of the best Plossls avaliable anywhere - come with winged eyecup:
- recessed barrel model $90
- straight barrel model $85 (optically identical to above)

Televue Plossl 15mm - in excellent condition - $100 - SOLD

Televue Plossl 17mm - optically flawless, as good as the 15mm - cosmetic damage to barrel (my fault) - markings on retaining ring indicate having been pulled apart (previous owner's fault) - comes with removable winged eyecup - an absolute bargain at $65 :scared2:

Panoptic 19mm - in excellent condition - superb eyepiece for any scope! I have a pair of these but I'm hanging onto the other one :) - $300 - SOLD

Nagler 17mm Type 4 :eyepop: - 2" barrel - in excellent condition - comes with pupil guide insert and instructions - an absolutely outstanding eyepiece for all types of telescopes - the ultimate spacewalk glass - $440 - SOLD

Antares 1.6x 2" barlow - Made in Japan - in excellent condition - if you are after a good barlow this is an excellent performer - works brilliantly with the 17mm Nagler Type 4 (see above) - also works as a 2x with a 2" long barrel extension or a 2.4x with a 4" extension - stingy Canadians did not supply any end caps for this one, just the box :P - $110 - SOLD

Skywatcher 102mm Maksutov Cassegrain - 1300mmm focal length in an extremely small and lightweight 4" scope - ultimate portable scope will go anywhere anytime - excellent planetary for its size: Cassini division no problems, shadow transits on Jupiter observable in good conditions - nice double star splitter - will go 1.2 degrees wide which is ample for just about all DSOs - great for terrestrial viewing too (but you might like to get an erecting diagonal for that) - comes with 1.25" mirror star diagonal, red dot finder, 6x30 finderscope, 10 and 25mm eyepieces and 3x barlow - can be mounted on a regular camera tripod - in excellent condition - retails for $600 or more ($599 for OTA only from Andrews) - $350 :astron: - SOLD

All prices include regular postage within Australia.

Photos to follow in subsequent posts. Please PM if you're interested. :)

ps. When I'm on IIS I can perfectly see whether I've got new PMs or not, so please try to resist the urge to clutter the thread with post alerting me about PMs sent :P - at least until I upload the photos for all items. ;)

Thanks for looking. :)

Photos of 17mm Televue Plossl with close-ups showing condition of barrel. update: I just remembered to check the filter threads for fit and they work perfectly with 1.25" filters. Let me stress again that the eyepiece performs flawlessly. Minor damage to barrel is cosmetic only.

Few updates.

Sold or sale pending: TV 15mm Plossl, Antares barlow, Nagler 17mm T4.

Antares Elite Plossls are probably not very well known this side of the planet so to help whet your appetites here is a bit more info:

These eyepieces are essentially the same as the now discontinued and highly regarded Celestron Ultimas. (See e.g. this thread on IIS (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=1601) or this one on CN (http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/549927/Main/452198).) The Ultimas, alongside the TeleVue Plossls, were rated as the top performers in a comprehensive comparison review of 10 major brands of Plossl eyepieces in Sky and Telescope, April 1996, page 38. PM me if you are interested in having a read of the article. I can confirm the performance of the Elites is excellent in scopes fast or slow (... but one can have too many eyepieces).
