Pinnacles in landscape mode.

Finally got around to processing this photo from last weeks trip. It's a 60 min exposure at 6400 iso, 14-24mm f2.8 Nikon lens at 14mm and f4, using the polarie. I still prefer the portrait orientation one though.
Thanks to those who commented on the other thread - very useful feedback! More welcome, I'm a sucker for abuse.

I should be more careful with units - I could almost workfor NASA with that one. Sixty seconds - one minute :-)

A glorious photo. That is sublime. So well done. What was the camera?

How did you get the foreground to show up? Was there a small moon?

I have done a 60 monute D800E exposure. Several in fact but that needs a high quality mount and is beyond the Polaries' ability.

Before this site I would never have thought West Australia would be an ideal place for nightscapes but some of the best have been from there.

It's a D800, and although I used a torch for the first test of the evening, I didn't need it for any of the subsequent images including this one. I could not figure out the source of the foreground illumination, other hypothesizing that it was Venus reflecting off my white car parked right behind the camera. There's only moderate light pollution from the nearby town of Cervantes and Perth is 200km to the south.
