Managed to collect four panels so far, while dodging clouds. I need many more (~8) to get the whole galaxy and its environs.

Exposures 9x4 min for each of RGB or 108 min per panel. It is interesting to note that at F5 this would take 290 min per panel to collect the equivalent amount of light and with nearly three times the thermal noise. The FoV is about 6x6 degrees.

Small version 7MB

If you think that the image size is too large at full res then consider that the original tiff is 611 MB.

The small version reminds me of the pointillism of nineteenth century painting!

This conveys the appearance of an image that your brain has concocted to be sharp and have detail. It is just an illusion!

So please think before you say that the stars of some super duper CaFl2 APO are absolutely fantastic when they are just bits of blockey crappy jpg artefacts.

It shows both your complete ignorance and lack of further research by not zooming in!

I am sure that an APO can be quite good. Some of my best friends are APO's.
