Hi All,

Flying up North for Comet ISON did not seem like a good idea so I thought I'd try to image it remotely with iTelescope.net instead. Apparently it is disintegrating (link to the article (http://phys.org/news/2013-10-comet-ison-disintegrating.html)), but let's hope Ignacio Ferrin is wrong...

It is my very first attempt at both remote imaging and LRGB capture/processing and I am quite happy with the process and the result.Below is the image of comet ISON from October 4th, 2013, 11:25UTC.
Planewave 508mm CDK f/6.8 with 0.66 Focal reducer and FLI ProLine PL11002M CCD. (T11 @ iTelescope.net) Lum: 5x180 sec, RGB 1x120sec
Processing in FITS Liberator 3 (don't laugh) and Phostoshop CC.

Thanks for looking,

Alex

Well done Alex. I visited the iTelescope(s) at Siding Springs last Saturday.

Interesting article and his paper is very interesting. I had no idea that this behaviour had been seen before and each time to failed comets.

Excellent result, you'd have to be pleased with that outcome.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. It is nice indeed to have access to 20" CDK once in a while :)

Very nice! Good idea to use the remote telescope rather than travel :)

Very nice Alex. Lets hope this comet brightens up into something spectacular.
