Comet c/2012 S1 (ISON) October 5

Another ISON (barely) 6 x 15 second subs at ISO 1600 through an ED80 at f5.5, Pentax DSLR, no filters and horrible EQ2.

Too low, too much cloud and too near dawn to pull much out of this thing.

Good effort - under trying conditions to say the least.... It is supposed to brighten now, but the sun will be too!

Yes, the comet moves a little higher but dawn comes earlier so not sure how we will ever get a good view unless it flares up near perihelion.

To get the best pics before perihelion we're also going to need something with long f/L and fast f ratio like a big fat fast newt. I don't think my 39cm f5.4 newt will fit on the EQ2. ;)

We'll be pushing it uphill to get good glimpses here I think.....
