Please no rain or clouds tonight.....:prey:
I want to try these out....the 14's are superb.....now the 17's will get a go.
Had to use the TeleVue High Hat Adaptor....keep the ' ocs ' away from the Diagonal mirror.

I've been out for a while.....these are very good as long as you have a ' dark ' site to go to....any moon or excessive light pollution ruins it.
Mind you....I'm only using these at the moment on a TV76.....still has the ' port hole ' experience when viewing.....a larger refractor( 4" inch and upwards ) ...Acro' or ED/APO would really make these Bino's and eyepieces a winning combination
Viewing with a single Delos 17 is still a joy to use....I recommend them to anyone contemplating a purchase.

They look pretty sweet. What's the field of view with them?

Hi Col,
How do you find the width of the eyepieces? They look big. I once used a pair of Meade HD 5000's with bino's and they were good but a bit uncomfortable to view through. I'm guessing if the Delos are comfortable it has a lot to do with the large lens, which the Meades didn't have. Put the 17's on the 140mm frac and heaven awaits.

Matt...plenty of room between eyepieces.....nice large lens on these Delos.
Very comfortable viewing as expected....long eye relief and the views .....you feel like you could fall through ....you look long enough and the physical sense of the eyepieces disappears and your ' out ' in space.
This effect works well on large Refractors....haven't tried them in my 10" LightBridge....prefer to BinoView with Frac's.
I see you have a 150mm f/8 Scope.....your already there...use your BinoViewer and a decent pair of eyepieces....if you want expansive views use eyepieces with minimum 68 degree fov IMHO.....works for me.
And I'll bet you'll stay longer at the ' eyepiece ' also once you try it.

The tapered barrel on the Delos would make all the difference for nose room, and comfort. The Meade HD 5000's have no taper at all. My SWA's are all 70º so I'm good for now, not quite Delos level though

Matt
If you ever get the chance to examine with a set of fine measuring caliber's your XW10mm with a 10mm Delos (for example) I suspect you will be very surprised at what you find.;)
When comparing the two the trick is to unscrew the eyecup on the XW. Indeed, if you are prepared to remove the adjustable eye guard assembly on the Delos the comparison becomes even more interesting.
