Its amazing where supernova discovery can lead ....all the way to Kitt Peak.
Well that's where Stu Parker is at the moment. He got an invite from one of the professional astronomers from Harvard. He has just arrived and has a room in the astronomers dormitory and will tonight be working with the pros using the 4m telescope.
Onya Stu!
Stu is over there with the team that recently were able to get unscheduled time during
2 orbits of The Hubble Space Telescope to image a recent BOSS discovery (2013ek in NGC 6984) that may have some interesting implications for the science behind supernova. The first papers maybe available in January and of course we will present what ever we can here as soon as we are given the ok.
And in more Pro-Am collaboration we have seen some amazing feedback to an IIS member David Trappet from another professional astronomer on how he can make a valued contribution plotting Sn light curves.

Amazing hobby this one.

Great to hear Stu has been given such an opportunity Peter!

As for myself, I think I need to learn to walk before I can produce anything meaningful. Nonetheless, I am impressed by the pro's enthusiasm and willingness to help.
