Not sure why or how, but I still end up falling for these....
This one is out at Cania George (couple of days off with the family).
Not sure what town created the cloud glow.... (wish it wasn't there, it was very localised)
This was just after the ISS passover (well, an hour later - Still have those to process...)
Nikon D800, 14mm Samyung, 30s, Iso 3200, f2.8 for the sky.
Something else for the foreground..... (my first attempt at time blending...)

I'm seeing a lot of these photos now in such numbers they are really all starting to look very same-ish.
Every now and then one stands out from the crowd.
This is one such masterpiece.

What I love most about this image is that there is harmony and balance between the sky and the blended foreground. It doesn't look all that out of place. It is owing to the skillful exposure of the foreground and being processed /just/ right. If it was any bolder, it would look out place.
Great vision.

Excellent composition and scene :) Nice piece of art.
The colour is a bit sci-fi more so than photograph, but looks nice :)

Nice Work Michael, I like the balance with the foreground and the sky.
My only critic would be maybe slightly over saturation on the sky.
I like the way the road draws you into the image.

Wow, love it. You nailed that. Superb composition and blending. The foreground was taken at a different time? Dusk?

Wow, :thanx: for the kind comments everyone!!
You keep me motivated (much to my family's disgust ;-)
Greg, H, The foreground was taken 6:03pm (about 10 minutes after sunset) but I did take them quite dark (1/10, f5, Iso 200)
I did try it with a slightly darker foreground, but it wasn't as good, so I ended up using it straight out of the camera with some additional saturation. I tried to match it to "reasonable moonlight".
The main starshots were taken at 9:09pm. Yes I did "up" the saturation on the upper component (+30 in camera raw). It probably is a little excessive.
To maintain the line-up, I marked out the tripod position on the road, kept the tripod extended, packed it up in the car, and came back 3 hours later.
I am definitely going to work more on the foreground background blending. I don't like it from a photographic point of view, but you do get much better results.
