here are some pics at iso1600 ,jpegs(i know i should use raws but im still trying to improve everything),Lx90, some with homemade focal reducer, wooden wedge(adjustable) on pier,canon350d. pics are:
Dumbell nebula m27 1@30s,1@60s. &4@90s focal reducer
Dumbell nebula m27 no focal reducer
Ring nebula m57 1@30s & 4@90s no focal reducer
Southern pinwheel galaxy m83 focal reducer
Eagle nebula m16 focal reducer
These are all unguided shots made from selected pics that were stacked in registax. only limited post processing done. many discarded pics due to slight trailing . philip

ps i might have reduced the pics size to much for this post?? you can easily see the central star in the ring nebula in my original pics

Thanks for the encouraging comments. Taking long exposure pics with the lx90 unguided is a challenge. The wooden wedge works well but needs some modification to its adjustments but is stable and damps down vibrations. The focal reducer is just an achromatic lens positioned in the visual back. i have given info on this forum over the last 18 months on homemade focal reducers. will post more pics as they come , moons going to be in the way when weather clears.
