I haven't been on here in a while as I sold my telescope before the baby arrived to help with expenses. It was all worth it and this weekend we took her out camping under the stars for the first time. I took this photo with my wife, baby and dog to mark the occasion.
nebulosity.

Thanks Jo! Funny story about the composition - The spot where the camera in this pic is exactly where I went to squat after dinner that night. I looked up and saw the milky way behind the tree and though it would make a great photo. Needless to say I had to quickly abort what I was about to do so I didn't ruin the location for everyone ;)

Amazing composition. I've wanted to try something like that for quite some time - monitoring.

You will look back at this photo in years to come and the emotion will still be there. I think you have captured something very special as well as showing your better half the plus,s of night time photography.Well done.

A good perspective on your individual lives, life in general as represented by the rather sculptural looking tree, and the mysterious universe beyond.

Yep....that's real nice.
Here's an idea......take the digital image ( put it on a thumb drive ) ....take it to a place where they will put the photo on ' canvas ' and frame it for you.
I have done this myself .....choose how big you want to make it.
Pick it up when it's ready....mount it on your lounge room wall.....
That moment will always be there to see....
Just an idea.....Col....
