I saw this conjunction when I was setting up for some imaging one night and thought I should take advantage of the unique relative positions of the Milky Way and this conjunction.

This is about a 20 image mosaic shot using a Vixen Polarie, Fuji XE1 and Fuji 14mm lens. Sky shots are 85 seconds ISO3200, landscape shots are 30 seconds and ISO3200.

Sometimes you are in the right place at the right time and are ready to take advantage of it!

Well done Greg!

Its very exciting when there's plenty of objects to see in the sky at once.

Thanks Rod. Yes when I saw that conjunction (I did not know it was expected) I thought it was a great opportunity.

I added a brighter foreground shot I took of the same spot.

I usually go to my dark site in the new moon period. This is great for astrophotography but not ideal for nice foregrounds in the Milky Way type shots.

That's lovely, Greg! Different from the usual conjunction image. Lots of airglow happening.

Thanks Rick. I am happy I have some foreground instead of my usual black foreground due to imaging during the new moon times.

I'll have to get some with some of the nice scenery I have scouted out.
