I am about to leave for Dallas, so gone for this weekend. Will make it the following Saturday if there is a quorum.

Your right Al, probably a bad call to nominate the weekends this time of year with all the finals on.
Maybe a weekday may be more suitable for some.

The NRL final is on a Sunday. So next Saturday will still work

Anyone interested in trying for an evening under the stars this weekend?
Admittedly
...it is a long weekend.
...and school holidays
...and daylight savings start Sunday morning, so thats another hour of sleep you will miss
But its New Moon and we can only hope for weather gods blessing (Despite Glen's new 16 incher !!! )

...actually, long term weather forecasting indicated Friday as being the best night this week.
I know these are not definitive, just indicative. But fore-warned is good. :scared3:
Anyone interested in Friday if it looks like being OK.

The pony club has activities for this weekend on its website but the venues remain "TbA". Unless someone can clarify whether or not they are using the pony club on both sat and sun it may be difficult

Hey guys!
Friday night would sound ok if it wasn't a long weekend, I fear it would take me half the night to get there with all the extra traffic on the F3...
With my work hours I doubt I'd be able to get home and pack before 7 or 8pm either.
If Sat is a no-go I'll have to give it a miss until next month.
Clear skies!

Katoomba or Wiruna (subject to fire risk) this weekend

Thanks Arthur.
I have sought clarification from the PC secretary.
Although there seems little interest from other IISers so far anyway.

I have just had a reply from the secretary of the PC.
This Friday 4th Oct still seems better for me, and I will be aiming to be there for anyone wishing to join me.:welcome::hi:
[Family visitors and wife's birthday party proposed for Saturday]
I attach a current astro prediction graphic below:
I don't understand all of the chicken scratchings, but I do know a Big Blue Ball on the first row is good, white meaning cloud cover.
For further news on developments towards our continued use of the PC site, I have started a separate Thread in This Forum with a status report.
The matter is continuing in a positive direction. :)

Sorry Allan
Would have done Friday night but my train doesn't get into tuggerah till about 1800 so it leaves it to late.
At this stage will be doing a driveway viewing night on Saturday with all homely conveniences

Katoomba looking iffy on Saturday but PC looking not bad if anyone is going?
I'm keen for Fri 4th and/or Sat 5th
I was at the PC for the first time at the July meeting.

OK, Bite the Bullet!
This is the last opportunity BEFORE daylight saving commences.
The sun still sets before 6 o'clock today.
so we don't have to wait too long for darkness.
And the Weather is still looking good for tonight too. (see below graphic)
I plan to be there before 5:00.
And will probably start to pack up around 11:00.
Anyone else is welcome just to roll up.

Allan
Great to hear you had a good night.
I would have loved to attend but was recovering from a very long drive from Mildura....
Perhaps you can cast a spell on the weather tonight and some lucky key holder will open the gates of heavens for us....(or was it the gates of PC)
