There were literally hundreds of kangaroos spread around the ATCA site - many with joeys in the mothers pouch. They were great to watch around sunset, and I was surprised to see so many of them still around at night - they appeared jumping around in many of my nightscapes and timelapses.

The bright Moon lights the scene. Canon 6D, 24-70mm lens, 42mm f/2.8, 13s exposure.

Thanks for looking.

The kangaroo's did very well to stand still for 13 seconds.

Superb, in February-March 2013 I've toured all observatories of New South Wales and Australia Telescope Compact Array at Paul Wild Obs - Narrabri was the first place where I saw kangaroos in the wild... sitting in the shadow of the trees near the visitor center :jump2:
Afterwards also saw kangaroos at Mount Stromlo, ...
Australia is an amazing continent with pitch dark night skies
