Just finished up a night of astronomy for my daughter's day care class. About 25 people turned up (about 7 adults, the rest kids :)). Given the geographical constraints and severe light pollution from the warehouse next door, managed to show them Saturn, Venus, Antares, Neptune, and the beautiful open cluster of M7. They loved it.

As usual, my Vixen GPD2 mount and FL102S refractor performed FLAWLESSLY, plonking targets dead centre every time (after only a 2 star alignment and a VERY rough polar alignment), and with such incredible views. The contrast and clarity through that scope is mind blowing. 3 dimensional without bino-viewers!

Doing it again in a couple weeks to show them the moon early :)

May need a malincam soon... be great to show them all on a big screen with colour. The little guys and gals took a while to get to know how to look (I only have a couple eyepieces, which didn't help, but the Vixen 8-24 Zoom saved the night)
