For sale is an Intes MK-65 Maksutov-Cassegrain in very good condition. Aperture is 150mm and it's f/10. The views compare well to my near-new Skywatcher 150mm Mak-Cass. The Russians know how to make a good Mak!

The Intes is physically smaller than the Skywatcher and weighs under 4kg (around 2kg less than the Skywatcher).

Being so small and light it's very portable and easy to mount. Even a sturdy camera tripod would handle it.

Included in the sale:

- Intes 50mm finderscope (focusable - much better than standard Skywatcher finders)
- Intes hard dew shield (fits over OTA for storage)
- Intes screw-on diagonal with integrated helical focuser (1.25")
- 35mm extension tube needed for my eyepieces to reach focus

The primary mirror can be moved up and down a few mm using the collimation screws to adjust the focus point. I left it alone and used the extension tube.

I have a shipping box so it can be sent anywhere.

The scope has a metal plate for attaching your choice of dovetail bar. The dovetail in the pictures is not included.

Looking for $380 ono, or possible trade (see posts below).

Please PM me if you are interested.

Cheers

Morton

I have a 5 element ex-NASA OTA that I'm not using. It is a nice rich-field. 6 inch f/5 but stops down to an effective 4.5 inch aperture. I live in Sydney.

Hi Tom,

I'm after a small lightweight scope, but thanks anyway!

Will consider partial trade for a 24mm Panoptic.

Dear MortonH

I might be interested in your MK65. In this regard, would you be able to ship it to Adelaide, and do you have any idea of what this might cost?

Also, I saw in the thread that you are after a smaller scope. I have a Meade ETX-90 (with heaps of the original Meade accessories including the electric focusser) in essentially as new condition. I am looking to upgrade to a larger mak, so would you consider this as trade?

Cheers,

Justin

Bump

Would like to move this on to clear up some space.

Open to offers of trades. Don't actually need anything but am always happy to get new stuff, not necessarily astro gear. Try me :D

Hi MortonH,

How about a swap with my Celestron Astromaster 70EQ? I bought it new, the tube is still in the wrap, I only looked through it once. Plan to use it as guide scope but never get around to it.

Thought I try my luck..!

:-)

Hi Morton - seeing as you are not interested in my ETX-90, I could consider trading an eyepiece or two. I might consider a trade of my meade 18mm UWA (82deg.) which gives a field similar to the 24mm panoptic you are after. I also have a 33mm William Optics SWAN (72 deg. - 2" format) that doesn't get used much.

Cheers

Justin

Trade options I would seriously consider:

Fast wide-angle lens suitable for astrophotography, e.g. Tokina 11-16mm (Canon mount)*

or

Manfrotto 229 head (no tripod)

*cash adjustment negotiable if lens is worth more than the scope!

The eyepieces below, or similar ones, would also be of interest for trade:

Nagler 3.5mm Type 6
Delos 12mm
Delos 17.3mm
Panoptic 24mm
Baader Hyperion 36mm
