Last weekend, my friend Andrew and I spent a night at Coonabarabran and then a night at Narrabri shooting nightscapes. It was an amazing weekend.

Here’s one to start us off! I’m off to WA for 2 weeks so won’t be able to post much, but hopefully will be capturing some more great images!

Now for this image – Sunset? Nope – the setting Moon at 2am on Sunday morning, captured at the ATCA at Narrabri.

- Large (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/509)
- Moonset at Narrabri (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/moonset-at-narrabri-atca/)

The 25s exposure with a 70mm lens certainly produced some streaks in the stars, and I did take some shorter exposures but this longer exposure gave the best light on the foreground and the dish.

Canon 6D, 24-70mm lens @ 70mm, ISO1600, f/2.8, 25s exposure.

Thanks for looking.

Nice shot Mike! The orange glow is fantastic! What's caused the red marks on the dish?

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.

The glow on the dish is the internal reflection from the Moon.
