Is there anyone who will "debayer" (or whatever the correct term is) a DSLR?

I have been using my spare 450D and it's been great to learn on, but I'm starting to want to have a go at filter imaging, specifically narrowband. I don't want to get into CCD imaging just yet, it seems like a whole different world, from capture through to processing!

I did a quick google, there's no shortage of "how to", "pro's and con's", but I couldn't find anyone selling the service.

Don't do it. You'll still need (better) cooling.

As an alternative, why not just the standard mod?

Peter in Hong Kong did my 450D

PS its not mono, the service he provides is just removing the IR filter-but if what you are after is narrow band you can still do use your DSLR (though its not as efficient as you throw away a more pixels than you use. Just expose longer :) )

still works ok for narrow band imaging with a H Alpha or O111 filter. Never tried a SII

Thanks guys, I've already done the standard mod myself and the results were great for OSC imaging nebula but for Narrowband imaging the exposure times and high ISO I needed were pushing the noise up. I figured I could get away with the cooling I have because I could use lower ISO.

Thanks Astroboy, I'll drop him an email.
