All,
I would like to prepare a mounting dovetail for a Takahashi 95mm tube clam shell.
I have only anekdotal information about the mounting holes on the Takahashi clam shells:
One centre threaded hole: what thread?
Two holes with 35mm centre distances: diameter? threaded?

Can the Tak owners please help, thanks?

Regards,

Peter

Two unthreaded 8.5mm diameter holes @ 35mm centres with a 1/4" 20tpi threaded hole central between them along the 'optical axis' of the clamshell.
They are usually mounted using two M8 (20mm or 25mm long) stainless steel cap-screws

Larger clamshells have four holes with pairs at 35mm centres at 90 degrees to the others.

Note: the 1/4" is to allow them to be mounted directly to most photographic tripods.
There is also a 1/4" threaded screw on top of the clamshell to allow the attachment of a camera or mini ball-head to the clam.
