That's 2 for 2, I finally got a solar transit to go with my lunar transit from earlier in the year!! :)
I used my SW ED80 with a 2x Barlow and a friends 6D (the 6D as it's slightly faster than my 5DmkII and I couldn't get hold of works mkIII). I knew from testing that the 6D would shoot raws at ~4fps for about 4 seconds so I started shooting 2 seconds before the predicted transit time and stopped when the camera started slowing down. As it turned out the 3 images that I caught were quite near the end so either I went early or the ISS was late ;)
The seeing wasn't great so not the best quality and as both the transits I've caught I've shot stills for I think I'll try video next time so I can stack a few images and see if I can recover a bit more detail.
This image is a composite of about 30 stacked images of the sun (RegiStax + Startools) with the 3 frames of the ISS overlayed as a luminosity layer in PS.
I love shooting these because they take a lot of effort and they're so hard to get right... kind of like all AP come to think of it... :D
