I've finally gotten around to processing my day shots from the Grand Canyon.
It was quite smoggy and mostly overcast on the day which presented a few problems with the processing.
Thank goodness for high pass filters. :)
No photo is going to do the Canyon justice. You can't get a feel for actual size of it, the depth, the width. It's canyons within canyons within canyons until you finally get down to the Colorado River, way down at the bottom.
I have also uploaded much higher res images to my Flickr account.

Nice pictures, JJJ! What area of the Grand Canyon is that?
We went for a drive along the Colorado River near Moab UT and that was much less exciting. Arches and Canyonlands national parks were pretty cool though
Cheers,
Rick.

They were taken from various spots along the South Rim. Between Hermits Rest and the Amphitheater. :)
Fabulous JJJ!
It feels like space warps there, doesn't it? :)

Amazing scenery. Can you trek in this thing or is pretty much too steep and off limit?

There are quite a few treks you can take. Some taking just half an hour, others taking days. Some are very dangerous, as you can imagine and you do need to let people know you are heading down.
My night time shots, I captured the lights from campers way half way down.
The temperature range is extreme which also adds to the hazards of rock falls and narrow paths with cliffs.
It's awe inspiring. When I first saw the Canyon, I stopped and stared and cried. I wasn't the only one either.

I'm heading over again next year Fred.
LA, Vegas then the Grand Canyon. I'd like to visit Yellowstone as well, but not sure if the funds will get me that far. :)
