Hi guys,
I spent 8 days in Yellowknife (September 1st to 8th) with my wife to check out the northern lights.
With the exception of the 1st, every night we were there was forecast "low" activity, but the 1st was overcast and raining. We did see them from the plane as were approaching though!
Anyway, we saw Aurora every night, some nights had brilliant displays that lasted anything from a few minutes to an hour.
I've strung together a time-lapse sequence for your entertainment.. shot with an EOS-550D, Tonkin 11-17mm, Tamron 8mm Fish-eye (both of which that a friendly local let us borrow) and our Tamron 18-270mm, and tripod of course ;)
