Hi there,
In adelaide this w'end for a quick trip, was hoping people may have suggestions for any old pubs or good bars / eateries worth visiting.
Probably not going to have time to head to the barossa this time round, will venture as far out as glenelg sat arvo methinks. the hotel is in near hindmarsh square.
I was hoping for some warmer weather, looks like i'm bringing the melbourne weather!! sorry! :P

This might help for the part of Adelaide you're staying in...Rundle Street (http://rundlestreet.com.au/?).
Cheers,

Hindmarsh Sq, you are staying at the Crowne Plaza then?
I just go there for business, don't do much site seeing. But if you take the tram to Glenelg you will need cash or a CC with a PIN. You pay on the tram.
Mind you, had a really nice paella in Glenelg 2 weeks ago. Restaurant right next to the tram stop, literally.

For something close - I really like the Italian restaurant, Amalfi, on Frome Rd just a couple of blocks away from where you're staying. Fantastically well-cooked seafood. East Terrace Continental cafe is great for breakfasts (cnr East & North Tce).
Gouger St, along with Rundall St, is one of the main restaurant strips in the CBD.
North Adelaide has some great restaurants too - just take a leisurely stroll up King William Rd.

 If you're after a great pub or bar, try the Lobethal Bierhaus. Great food & boutique beers. It's about 35 minutes from the CBD. You'll need a car to get there, and it's a nice drive into the hills. You could also duck in to the Lobethal oval and watch the Hills Footy League grand finals (my son is playing). :D
Other than footy finals, I think it's going to be a reasonably quiet weekend in Adelaide. And a bit iffy with the weather. There is the OzAsia Festival. Starts Friday and runs for a couple of weeks. The museum and art gallery are good. The Bradman Collection is great if you're a cricket nut. The Royal Adelaide Show is on - finishes Saturday night. Good city pubs are dotted around here & there. And good restaurants, like the Jasmine Indian restaurant in Hindmarsh Square. Best Indian in SA.
Have fun.

The Griffins Head in Hindmarsh Square is a great pub, great food for years although I have not been for about 10 months but should still be great.
Cafe Michael 2 on Rundle Street, really great Thai
Enjoy!

The Royal Adelaide Show is on atm, so might be an idea...
Yep another vote for the Griffs head. A nice little place. I'm pretty sure on the opposite side of the square there is still an Indian restaurant so if you like that sort of thing it's the best Indian in town.
There is always the German club on Flinders st just near Frome Rd.
Also for a late night treat find the Falafel House in Rundle st, there are two of them next to each other but go into the first one with all the pictures on the wall and the guy with a wonkey eye serving.
Never found a better Yiros than there.
The show is a good idea too.
