Here is a wide field of Musca central. While not as spectacular as some other bits of the sky. It shows that there are still interesting areas that we all seem to ignore while looking at all the shiny bits.
Details
Canon 5DH, Canon 300mm F2.8L at F2.8. 11X60sec ISO 1600, processed with ImagesPlus and RegiStar.
There is a few nice little globs in this region.

I guess that's the equivalent of the "boring side of Jupiter".. ie: nothing there is boring!

i'd never noticed that dark lane before and is that NGC5189 I can see above the two bright stars?

Thanks all.
I just did a quick calculation and assuming no overlap, to capture the whole sky with this setup would take 1460 different pictures or areas.
I wont have to move to the northern hemisphere for quite some time.

That would be some task 1460 images so that mean's 1459 left...we will keep count Bert.
