Hi:

I'm now including a Flat frame in my stacking.

And my polar align is better. I found it (altitude knob) was

a bit high by almost a whole degree. So now the PhD guide

is running better on the graph. But it (polar) is still off a bit

as the graph shows steep lines still. And the guider will go off

and ding after awhile. This was a stacking of some 2 minute subs

at 1600 ISO using a T2i. Whirlpool Galaxy in URSA Major.

Other than that things are fine.

Any advice?

Thanks

Hi David,

That's pretty neat image for a starter!

Just keep practising, as it sounds like you're getting there. Polar aligning is an art one gets better with in time. That will help smooth out the PHD bumps. In time, you may need to review your PHD settings, as the default settings are not perfect for all configurations (short vs long FL).

Wish I could image M51.

Regards,

Steve
