First macro shot

Just got a set of kenko extension tubes and was keen to try them out. I came across this little guy when I was doing some work in the garden. I used my 70-200 lens set at 95mm and f/22 and 1s shutter speed. 100 iso. The spider was sitting in an opaque plastic container which acted like a little softbox giving a nice even light. I am happy with this for my first try...

Excellent results Adam, especially for your 1st macro. Must have been an extremely cooperative spider for a 1 sec exposure!

Thanks guys. Yes - he was absolutely still all through the shoot. I had to encourage him to turn around and face the camera though...

That is a mighty fine capture adam :thumbsup: I picked up the Kenko set not too long ago, havent used on the 70-200mm yet, so, just wondering how much extension did you use for this shot ?

I cant remember exactly....:question:

I was just playing around with the new toy rather than doing any serious experimentation. I have a feeling it was at least 2 of them as the front element of the lens was only a couple of inches from the spider - very strange when you're using the 70-200 which normally can't focus closer than 5 feet.!
