:help: Hello everyone, so it's been a while since I have been on here, last time I was I was asking for some advice on a scope, well I ended up getting an 8" Dob! Yesterday.
So now I need help... I can't seem to focus on anything, I set up the finder scope during the day & was able to focus on stuff about 20-30 meters away but couldn't seem to focus on a target that was at least 500 meters away. I tried different eyepieces & that still didn't help.
Last night I tried looking at some stars but had the same problem I can't focus on them, it's like there isn't enough focus... Am I doing something wrong... Please help!!!

You probably purchased a Saxon / Sky Watcher Dob (Synta).

Finder Scope: loosen the locking ring and turn the objective lens housing until you achieve focus on a distant object during the day. Tighten the locking ring and you should be right. You can repeat the process at night to fine tune the focus for the stars.

Focuser: If your 2" adaptor is in place remove it and replace it with the 1.25" adaptor. Position your eyepiece and you should be able to achieve focus.

Align the finder scope to the view given in your eyepiece during the day. Fine tune this at night on a bright star.

I have made some assumptions about your telescope. Hope this helps.

Thanks Stu, I'll give the 1.25" adaptor a shot.

Sounds like the old Skywatcher problem of having both eyepiece adaptors loaded at the same time.
Could this be the case?
If so remove the 2 inch adaptor.
There has been a lot posted on this.

 :thanx: Thanks Allan, that is exactly what it was!
I had both of the adapters in at the same time, I now have just the 1.25" in & it works a treat :)
Bring on the night sky :D
