I have been looking at options for an observing chair for my 10" dob.

How would this work as a cheaper option to a proper one?.

Says its adjustable from 570mm - 820mm

It's range is only 250mm. I found with my Bintel chair when using my 12" I used almost the full range. In fact the chair was most useful when observing low. It can also be used if you get a refactor or solar scope where the EP can end up really low and sitting is much more comfortable.
That said, it is a cheaper option!

Hi Frank,
I hear your pain.
I also thought as you do.
And I did buy a gas stool.

And yes it was cheaper, easier to adjust, but...
It does not cover the full range of adjustment you will need,
AND
it does not fold FLAT, for transport to dark sites.

I eventually bought the bintel chair, so it ended up costing more in the end,
BUT
I have little hesitation in saying it was one of the single best purchases I have made.

Observing is so much more enjoyable when you are comfortable.

My recommendation, buy the bintel chair.
Versatile, sturdy, simple.
They are the best. (IMHO)

But buy some reflective tape for those dark sites because they are easy to trip over in the dark.
Happy observing

Just came across this as well . Looks the part unfortunately same height arrangement.

I'm just on the look out for a cheaper option as I'm getting married and need to watch the pennies....looks like it may be DIY !

I'm looking at that guitar stool thinking it could be modded to work! Maybe modify foot peg as a second seat!

Google the Denver Chair. It's quick and easy to make, dirt cheap and easy to use. I've had mine for four years now.

I think I'll go DIY or just buy the real deal now....sometimes money saved just ain't worth it!

I use that chair list by OP. works great for complete seated viewing for my 12" dob. I didn't attach the wheels either. I pretty much can't observe without it. Just need to sit to really take the view in.
