I saw NGC 6749 on 22 Apr 2012, it was easier than I expected.

Thanks Glen, I think I may have forgotten to observe it at Barambah. but will attempt it tonight.
Don't like my chances as it is very smoky :mad2:

I saw N6749 tonight, extremely faint, it's hazy and smoky here too.
I saw the small cross shape (at left next to the GC) in the ESO image below and the GC when I moved the 16" scope gently.
This image shows a bit more than what I saw.

That's amazing work for 2 hours - almost 1 per minute.

Argo or starhop?

Well done Graham.
Attached are two pics from last night.
I use a 16" GSO Dob with 21, 13 and 9 mm EPs (86,138,200 times) and a UHC filter.
The yellow torch has a red LED and the book is Southern Gems.
Thanks Judith for the mouse-pad. My computer star atlas is SkyMapPro.
It was so much easier when I did not need glasses and a magnifying glass to read things. :(
