No Booby Prize for Charity Raffle
OR
(so many captions come to mind ... )

To support the local unit of the Volunteer Marine Rescue, I recently purchased three tickets for $5.

What a great and deserving cause!
(A Big Thankyou to all those who volunteer for such community activities  ).

And the First Prize was definitely worth winning...
"Anglapro MR384 fishing boat + 9.9hp Suzuki 4-stroke outboard + registered Dunbier trailer with safety pack including two life jackets, anchor and chain, torch, bailing kit, V sheet, air horn"

Hmmm! I thought. That ends abruptly...

Then I notice that there is something like liquid paper at the end of that line...

I thought, Oh! there was going to be something extra, and they have deleted it from the prize pool. :mad2:

So, with a bit of investigative skill, and a bright light, I can just make out the prize they decided to keep for themselves !!! No wonder ...

under the liquid paper it read........"and whores." :eyepop: :eyepop: :eyepop:

Me thinks the printing may have been done off shore, on the cheap, by someone with English not their first language. But what were they thinking? OR Perhaps it was one of those "Auto Spell-Checker Correction" clunkers we all dread.

At least they are not into wasting money. What a genius remedy. But I wonder how much liquid paper, and who had to do the fix, to the TENS of Thousands (judging by my ticket number) of tickets.

Certainly brightened my day.

A bit of a whoopsy there Allan.

Probably meant oars. :D I would not have fancied that job with the white-out.

More importantly, did you win and, if so, did you collect the whole prize?

Sounds like the safety pack needs to include some latex products.

Perhaps it's a voice recognition fail, except they got all the brand names and model numbers right.

I did know that they weren't allowed to raffle whores, but did you also know that our tradition of selling tickets "$2 each or 3 for $5" is not allowed any more?
Next thing you know they'll be banning the friday night chook raffles at pubs. :(

The whores weren't available. There's an election on.
