Nice and warm last night so dusted off the hyperstar and went out to play a bit. Did 4 panels in Ha around the prawn 5x5min. Might try to extend it towards the 'wolf' nebula tonight if I get a chance.

Big one here (https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%21863#cid=6930D 3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%211382&v=3).[full field]. Collimation didn't move much since I last touched it so that was a pleasant surprise. Ordered a spacer for the camera though. The QHY9 back focus is different from my QHY8 so to get a perfect flat field I'll need to sort that out.

Thanks for looking.

PS: Added a couple more.

The wolf Nebula, 2 panels 10x5min. Big one here (https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%21863#cid=6930D 3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%211383&v=3).
and
The Dark Tower, 2 panels 10x5min. Big one here (https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%21863#cid=6930D 3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%211384&v=3).
and
The Swan, 2 panels 10x5min. Big one here (https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%21863#cid=6930D 3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%211385&v=3).

Marc,

The Ha with hyperstar certainly brings out the background nebulosity nicely. Great to look at - and only 5x5 to boot!

Star images look a little wonky in places (meeeah who cares) but the nebulosity depth is great

Thanks Geoff. Leaving in about an hour or two. Will be there until Thursday.

Thanks Mike. Too right. Focus shifted a little but I kept shooting. By the time I was on the swan it was out.

Great selection of images Marc. Not sure of your mosaic approach though. What do you do, shoot all the key targets in the area, then come back and fill in the blanks? A bit hit and miss. The prawn is my pick of the pack. Top work!

Thanks Jase. No mosaic in mind with this one. I see what you're getting at, I remember your HaLRGB mosaic with the FSQ106. Those objects are very closely related and these panels might look like a shotgun approach. Truth is I've just got out that night and decided to do single panels on key areas offsetting each with a 50% overlap to get a nice framing. Given the time slot I had to do it and the weather I think you'd need a solid week to mosaic the whole area at that FL.

I'm at Ilford right now since last Sunday and tonight is my last night of imaging as bad weather is returning Thursday night by the look of it. 3 clear nights in a row so far with decent seeing and good transparency. Got up here with two cameras. One OSC and one mono. I did this area in Ha with a 100mm lens and that fits all and more in one shot with some decent image scale.
