Here is a link to the one I built

For the top part I used the foam that came with my scope but found it was very noisy so I built a wooden bracket to hold the scope.
About 1/2 an hour with a jigsaw aand a drill. Used some self adhesive draft blocker to custion the scope.
Worked really well!

Peter my dob hand truck is very similiar to Malcolm's and it also based on Mike Salway's original design in the Projects and Articles area of this forum. Located here is Mike Salway's hand truck setup:

Around the yard at home I use the hand truck to move my 12" dob to various observation points and back and forth to the shed. I built a leveling baseboard that the Dob sits on (and is screwed to) so the hand truck never bears on the dob base directly. Just make sure you strap it to the hand truck before you try to move it, they can be heavy things (dobs) and I find a stap definitely helps control it when you rotate the hand truck backwards to lift the unit. If you have the original packaging then one of the half circle styrofoam supports placed against the hand truck help prevent the tube from rotating back and into the steel of the hand truck (as per Mike's photos) and yes it does squeak alittle when used.
For travelling I have a Dob transport case which converts into a hand truck with the addition of a bottom dolly. You can read about it, and see it, here:

This is my take on a home made cart for the 12" dob. It works well for me but others prefer the trolley as a means of moving their scopes around.
