Hi All, many of you have probably already seen this. I came across it by accident on Damien Peach's web-site. The pickering seeing scale from 1-10 with actual video simulations of what a focussed star will look like at different seeing conditions. Looking at these I may have to review my seeing ratings down a notch or even two. Don't think I've ever seen beyond 7 on this view, and the last couple of months it's been "1" with a high of "3"

Yep. Been going by the pickering scale for awhile now. I'll stick an eyepiece in & 'call' the seeing before an imaging session.

He obviously hasn't been to SE Qld in May. There are no negative numbers. :P

There you have it, you need a 5" scope to rate it this way or be aware of how your current conditions would look compared to a 5" scope.
