Is anyone else here doing the Global Corporate Challenge? With >35,000 teams worldwide I guess I can't be the only one here wearing out shoes.
I'm not setting the world alight but I am on track to finish with an average daily step count over 10,000, which is the basic target. Because I walk to work I didn't have to increase my walking greatly to get to that number but I did have to work on my consistency. I found early on there were too many days where I had a 'reason' to walk less. Now I'm doing over 10,000 steps virtually every day, including getting out at lunchtime and doing a lap of the botanic gardens over the road. Initially I didn't feel any benefit but just in the last fortnight I've noticed a difference. I'm perhaps a bit fitter but, more importantly, I think my mood is lifting. The black dog still bites at some time every day but it's effects are getting less severe and not lasting as long. It looks like my future involves walking myself sane.
