Proper first light for my new acquisition the other night (as opposed to a rushed muck around).

Caught the last hr of the last qtr moon before it dipped down behind trees & hills... WOW... Impressive detail, particularly through a 6.7mm UWA coupled with TV 2.5x powermate. I was blown away..

Had a bit of a squizz at Venus (didn't realise what it was at the time), very bright not much detail (but, didn't really expect that from a small scope).

Took in some nice wide views of the sky & was impressed with just how many more stars one can actually see vs the naked eye or even Binos. The streets & houses are a bit bright round my way so, looking forward to finding some time to travel to a darker place & see what I can see then.

Sounds good Carlton. Never seen Venus looking anything like you describe....that's Venus!
Take the scope with an ES 40mm 68º eyepiece to a dark site and your in widefield heaven!
